Water reuse is becoming increasingly important in industry, food production, agriculture, aquaculture and other operations with high water use. By treating and reusing process water, companies can reduce consumption, lower operating costs and ease pressure on local water resources.

Typical applications include reuse of process water, CIP water (Cleaning In Place), cooling water, rinse water and internal recirculation. The choice of treatment depends on water quality, the type of contaminants and the requirements placed on the reused water.

Not every stream can be reused directly, but water use can often be reduced substantially with filtration, biological treatment, UV disinfection, ozone, activated carbon, membrane processes or reverse osmosis.
